Cleaning your teeth can feel like a real chore, especially after a long day when all you want to do is go to bed. But cleaning your teeth has several health benefits. It is also a way to become closer to Allah through obedience to His Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him). The Prophet (PBUH) used to use siwaak regularly. The hadith of ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ood (RA) said: “I used to gather siwaak sticks from the araak tree for the Messenger of Allaah (PBUH).” (Reported by Ahmad). The term “siwaak” means to clean the mouth and teeth, and the term “miswak” is the tool that is used to clean the teeth. Before the advent of modern toothbrushes, sticks from certain trees were used. In the case of the Prophet (PBUH), he would use the sticks from the araak tree as mentioned in the above hadith. benefits of miswak

She said, “When he entered his house, the first thing he would do was to use the siwaak.” (Reported by Muslim, 1/220).
